Jeans that Fit

Okay, fellow Mamas.  Who else loves shopping for kids clothes but almost never gets clothes for herself?  Raise your hand, Ladies!  Admit it!  Anyone else here still using the occasional maternity top?

I do this all the time.  This week, our office closed early, and I had the rarity of a few hours to myself.  The girls were at daycare, my husband was still at work, so I decided to get my sad self to the mall and get some jeans.

I had lots of jeans in my closet, but not a single pair that fit!  Considering that jeans are a necessary staple, and that I am lucky enough to work in an office with a casual dress code, having no jeans that fit (really no pants at all that fit) is a serious issue.

Ill-fitting jeans are a problem no matter who you are.  If they’re too tight, they pinch.  Nothing makes me crankier than pinchy jeans, and if a wedgie is involved?  Forget it.  I morph from Normal Molly to Crazy Molly in 10 seconds flat.  If jeans are too loose, not only do they fall off, but you look like you’ve pooped in your pants.  Crazy Molly and Poopy Butt are generally two states that I prefer to avoid, so it was time.

I went in to, where else, GAP.  After all, when you think jeans, you think GAP.  The girls in there were so sweet and adorable.  It was an odd time of day, so the two of them fussed over me and helped me choose just the right pair of jeans in just the right size.  I got a pair of skinny jeans and a pair of what I think of as “regular” jeans: medium rise, boot cut.  When I put on that first pair of jeans that FIT I hat to do a little happy dance.  I had been wearing the wrong size for so long that I had forgotten what jeans feel like when they fit!  As it turns out, the jeans I walked in wearing were three sizes off!  No wonder I was feeling frumpy and dumpy!

Coming to work in my new jeans THAT FIT was awesome!  It felt so good!  It’s amazing how something as simple as a pair of jeans that actually fits can make such a difference in how I feel about myself!  I feel like one good lookin’ mama now! No Mom Jeans here!

Ladies, do yourselves a favor.  Bite that bullet.  Make sure you have at least one pair of jeans that really fits well.  You won’t regret it!
